Northwest Assessment Services, LLC was formed in 2004 after its founder, Alane Watkins, saw a constant need for HR services in small businesses. Large corporations have a dedicated Human Resources staff to handle benefits, unemployment and workers compensation, hiring and firing, recruitment and training. Smaller businesses simply do not have the budgets to fund such a position full time. NAS provides these services on an as needed basis.
Some of the successes:
- Acted as project manager for a manufacturing firm. Added 40 employees and increased production by 400 percent to meet a large corporate order within 90 days.
- Helped a small electronics service business add 3 new employees and deal with a 200% increase in sales in one year. Upgraded software, facilitated installation of integrated shipping software.
- Provided customer service training to over 150 health care workers.
- Trained 22 first-time managers in supervision and performance management.
- Wrote over 20 job descriptions, assisting a general manager in manufacturing with delegation and implementation of new organizational structure.
