NAS was formed in 2004 after its founder, Alane Watkins saw a constant need for HR services in small businesses. Large corporations have a dedicated HR staff but small and medium businesses only see the need intermittently and typically do not have the budget for a full time HR person. Initially NAS helped with recruitment, unemployment claims, hiring and firing but has since grown to include customized training, growth planning, policy manuals and handbooks as well as consulting assistance in efficiency, streamlining and LEAN principles.
